1. Choose high-strength steel with wear resistance and corrosion resistance

  • Steel selection: Block molds use high-strength steel with wear resistance and corrosion resistance.

  • Material inspection: Ensure that the quality of the selected steel meets national standards or industry standards.

2. Heat treatment carburizing improves its hardness and toughness

  • Preliminary heat treatment: Including annealing, normalizing and other processes to improve the cutting performance and internal structure of steel.

  • Final heat treatment: According to the use requirements of the mold, select the appropriate heat treatment process, quenching, tempering, carburizing, etc., to improve its hardness and toughness.

  • Detection after heat treatment: Use hardness testers and other equipment to detect the hardness of steel after heat treatment to ensure that it meets the design requirements.

3. Machining

  • Rough processing: Including cutting, milling and other processes to process the steel into the preliminary shape of the mold.

  • Finishing: Use high-precision equipment such as CNC machine tools (CNC), electric discharge machining (EDM), wire cutting, etc. to finely process the mold to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface roughness.

  • Machining datum surface: Determine the datum surface of the mold to ensure the accuracy of subsequent processing.

  •  Machining holes and slots: Machining ejector holes, cooling water channels, exhaust slots and other structures.

4. Surface treatment

  • Polishing: Polish the mold surface to achieve the surface roughness required by the design.

  • Other surface treatments: Such as carburizing treatment, quenching treatment, etc., to further improve the performance of the mold.

5. Assembly and debugging

  • Parts inspection: Use equipment such as three-coordinate measuring machines to detect the size and accuracy of processed parts.

  • Mold assembly: Assemble all processed parts into a complete mold.

  • Debugging: Check the performance of the mold through trial molds, and adjust the opening and closing accuracy, clearance, etc. of the mold.

6. Quality inspection

  • Dimension inspection: Ensure that the dimensional accuracy of the mold meets the design requirements.

  • Performance inspection: Test the wear resistance, corrosion resistance and other properties of the mold.

  • Appearance inspection: Check whether there are scratches, burrs and other defects on the mold surface.
